Pelargonium graveolens essential oil.
Fraterworks: Geranium oil, from pelargonium graveolens, adds fresh green notes and a touch of rose-like sweetness. this makes it a key ingredient in numerous perfumes — particularly fougères. its blend of floral and herbal tones gives balance and brightness.
Chinese geranium oil differs from geranium bourbon which is typically known for its rich, sweet rose smell with a minty hint. on the other hand, the chinese variety has a sharper, greener scent with herbal undertones, so it works well in fresh blends. it is also a more budget-friendly option.
This oil works well with citrus, floral, and woody scents. it brightens top note blends based on lemon or bergamot, melds smoothly in the heart with rose or jasmine, and pairs beautifully with sandalwood or patchouli for a deep, rich base. its versatility makes it a must-have for every perfumer. and of course our supplier, lmr, is world class so you know you're getting the absolute finest quality on the market.

Fraterworks: Geranium bourbon or rose geranium is native to south africa but it was transplanted to réunion island (known as île de bourbon from 1665–1793) by the french colonists in the 1840s after natural disasters destroyed the coffee industry in 1806 and 1807. in time the importance of the island in international trade fell and most geranium bourbon is now produced on the neighbouring island of madagascar, from whence this essential oil comes.
Our geranium bourbon essential oil is, for all intents and purposes, the closest in scent you can find to the odour quality loved by the great perfumers of the 20th century who particularly enjoyed the balanced and easily managed green and floral scent. it is a key note in most of the earliest fougère fragrances.
